Odell Beckham Jr. To Take Part In ESPN’s Body Issue
ESPN The Magazine has an annual edition of their magazine called the “Body Issue.” This year’s edition will be the seventh edition of a magazine that is dedicated to using popular athlete’s bodies as artwork. The athletes both male and female, typically pose either mostly or completely nude with certain body parts covered by the use of various props or by using strategic poses.
Many popular athletes from all different sports have taken part in the Body issue and this year’s will cover one of the most popular players in the NFL, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. As reported in an Associated Press report for Newsday.com, Beckham announced earlier this week that he will be taking part in the magazine.
Beckham will add to his growing popularity that had skyrocketed in his record-setting rookie season in 2014. He will appear alongside several other popular athletes from the wide world of sports like MLB slugger Bryce Harper, NBA star Kevin Love, and even 300lb offensive lineman Anthony Castonzo from the Indianapolis Colts.
Beckham is the first New York Giants player to take part in ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue and has added another accolade to his vastly growing resume that already includes an NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2014 and the winner of the annual Madden video game cover athlete vote, putting him on the cover of the soon to be released Madden 16.
Beckham has become a household name at a record pace which can be scary for a 22 year old, but Beckham appears to be handling his new found fame well as he matures both as a player and as a person. Beckham is looking to make an even bigger name for himself heading into a promising 2015 season.
The seventh annual ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue featuring Beckham and more will be released online July 6 and on newsstands July 10.
