Jason Pierre-Paul

By now we’re all well aware of Pierre-Paul’s 4th of July fiasco, but what fans need to turn their focus back to is the fact that he is the team’s defensive anchor. Their defense will make or break on Pierre-Paul’s performance not only because he is a team leader, but because he is just that good.

He’s one of those few players you can truly say does it all. Draws two defenders on a pass rush, can occasionally drop into coverage, and plays stout run defense.

This is Steve Spagnuolo’s best weapon. We’ll all be asking questions about his index finger until he proves he can play without it–but for now, fans have to remember the Giants’ defense lives and dies on Pierre-Paul’s performance.
