1. The Giants Have Been Left In The Dark

Until yesterday the Giants have been completely shut out from contact with Pierre-Paul. Reports had just surfaced that the Giants owner John Mara was frustrated with the lack of communication; and that he knew only as much as the media has reported. It wasn’t until Sunday when Jerry Reese was able to talk to Pierre-Paul.

According to an ESPN report Reese has no way of knowing when Pierre-Paul will be back. The conversation that Reese had remains a private one. The big thing here is that at least there is contact from Pierre-Paul to the organization. That is a massive step in the right direction though the situation is relatively the same.

The Giants are waiting on Pierre-Paul to sign his franchise tender and return to the team. The team has no idea when he will return and even if he will be able to return. The franchise tag remains on the table, but with the regular season quickly approaching there has to be a time table. Pierre-Paul doesn’t want to sign the franchise tag and risk being placed on the non football injury list (costing him a significant amount of his earnings). The Giants just want this nightmarish situation to reach a conclusion.
