Giants Should Examine Scrap Heap for Roster Help

Fred Jackson runs for daylight
RB – Fred Jackson
The Buffalo Bills said goodbye to their longtime back Fred Jackson. Jackson has averaged 4.4 yards a carry over his 8 year career in Buffalo. Though he has been a big part of the Bills offense since getting drafted he has never been the feature back and still may have some decent treads left on his tires.
He is an excellent receiver coming out of the backfield as he racked up 66 catches for 501 yards last year in addition to his 525 yards on the ground. The Giants are not particularly looking for help at the running back position but Rashad Jennings has a history of injury and if he goes down I don’t know how I feel about Shane Vereen and Andre Williams taking over. Vereen is more of a change of pace / 3rd down back while Williams still has some developing to do.
Jackson will likely be picked up very soon and was rumored to be visiting the Seahawks yesterday but if the Giants were to decide to make him an offer, Eli Manning would have another weapon at his disposal. You can never have too much talent on a roster. If Jackson is open to coming to play for the Giants they better get it done.
