Jason Pierre Paul Finally Decides to Show Up
By Jesse Connor
According to Dan Graziano of ESPN (tweet) Jason Pierre Paul will make his return to the Giants next week.
I hope JPP’s hand is recovering well and he is mentally adapting to life with one less digit.

With that being said I find this to be another classless act from an immature player.
The Giants still do not know what to expect from the defensive end who totaled 12.5 sacks lack season. It is yet to be seen how much pressure he can put on the spot of the missing finger. Will he be able to put his hand in the dirt? If this is a problem it may be a good idea to switch him to the left side of the line where he can use his left hand (the outside hand) to get in his stance.
If his hand is still wrapped it will be difficult to grab onto defenders but his large wingspan and arms may make up for that.
It will definitely take JPP some time to learn an entirely new playbook. It is yet to be seen if he will even be active or if he will be placed on the Non Football Injury (NFI) list. I would hope the Giants would place him there at least temporary until he is fully evaluated. It would be a shame to put him on the 53 man roster at the expense of a player who was here for all of training camp and pre season, especially if he is inactive for the first few weeks.
I would either offer him a long term deal with a very low base salary, loaded with incentives or rescind the franchise tag and go sign some other players ( like recently released Darnell Dockett) or re-sign guys already on the roster like Prince Amukamara and Eli Manning.
I wish the best for Jason Pierre Paul as a person, I really do. But from a buisness standpoint I still believe the Giants should move on from him, I just don’t see him living up to a near $15 million dollar contract. I’ve been wrong before and if they decide to keep him around I hope I am wrong here.
