New York Giants Must Exploit Cowboys Secondary
The blueprint for beating the Dallas Cowboys is beating them through the air and taking care of the football. The New York Giants have to have a big day from Eli manning if they expect to win their opener against the Cowboys. The Giants have a matchup advantage here. The Giants receivers should be too much to handle for the Cowboys secondary.

With Orlando Scandrick out for the season it is likely that a veteran receiver will be facing a rookie cornerback, Byron Jones. Jones is a very talented pass defender out of UCONN but he is a rookie and the Giants have three very talented receivers. Brandon Carr is the one the Giants will likely test early in the game however because Manning has had success against him in the past.
Odell Beckham Jr. is an unstoppable force when he plays the Cowboys. He became a household name when he had an unbelievable catch that some refer to as the best in NFL history. In that game Beckham Jr. had 10 receptions for 146 yards and 2 touchdowns. Look for Beckham Jr. to get the ball early and often against a Cowboys team that probably has not found an answer for him yet.
Larry Donnell is a player to watch in this game. He has the size and speed to cause havoc for the Cowboys defenders. The Cowboys linebackers are a little undersized and he may be able to take advantage of this in the middle of the field. There is no safety or defensive back who can handle Donnell in coverage. If Donnell can take the step forward in becoming a legitimate superstar it will greatly behoove the Giants.
The Giants have the weapons and the Cowboys may not have an answer for them, but there is a catch to all of this. The Giants will have a lot of pressure on their offensive line if they will be throwing the ball a lot. It remains yet to be seen if the Giants can establish a rushing attack but either way the match up says throw it.
The Cowboys have a young pass rusher in Randy Gregory who has a ton of explosiveness. He is a raw player but the Giants relatively worrisome offensive line may be the chance for him to get off to a hot start. The Giants offensive line was the priority in the offseason because it could very well be what holds the Giants back. If the offensive line holds up and Manning gets hot, the Giants could put on a show to start the season.
