Odell Beckham Talks Giants’ Offense

Odell Beckham has quickly become one of the most notable players in the NFL. Yesterday evening, I attended an event held by Dunkin Donuts called Camp Commitment. It featured the reveal a commercial where Odell Beckham and Eli Manning enjoy a good cup of Dunkin’s famous coffee. Bob Papa interviewed Beckham for the audience and I managed to squeeze in a question myself.

Papa questioned Beckham and about his famous catch against the Dallas Cowboys last year. Beckham claimed that the catch would have been more significant if the New York Giants actually won that game.

Beckham also revealed to Papa that his one handed catch isn’t just for show and that he does have a preference. Beckham prefers to catch a football with his right hand. It makes a big difference especially since Manning throws with his right hand. Tom Coughlin is well known for being a stickler when it comes to catching the football. Beckham reported that Coughlin insists he must catch the ball with two hands when possible.

Papa asked about how comfortable Beckham felt in year two of Ben McAdoo’s scheme. Beckham was confident about his fit into the offense, but also admitted that he is still learning.

Anthony Sciarratta: Do you think the New York Giants can have a top five NFL offense?

Odell Beckham: I guess that depends of how well we execute, so we will see this Sunday

Beckham didn’t have much to say about the Giants’ offense. Keeping it quiet is the best thing to do and Beckham knows that. I’m sure that he is very confident in his own abilities to make some plays in McAdoo’s new offensive scheme.
