Atlanta Falcons Vs. New York Giants: Prediction

The New York Giants have a tough match up this week. The clearest route to victory is to exploit the questionable Falcons offensive line, though the Giants defensive line didn’t look all that impressive in week one. If the Giants cannot generate enough pressure on Matt Ryan, he will be able to carve this defense apart with weapons like Julio Jones and Roddy White.

I see the Falcons putting up some points in this game. This is a game that can go one of two ways. Either the Giants offense steps up to the plate and we have a shootout, or the Falcons embarrass the Giants in their home stadium.

The Cowboys put up over 400 yards and had plenty of chances to score that they wasted. The Cowboys squandered some great chances last week to put pressure on the GMEN, including a would have been touchdown pass to Dez Bryant with nobody around him. The Cowboys were awfully generous hosts and that is why the Giants almost claimed victory in week 1. The Falcons may not be so kind to the hosting Giants.

The Giants offense needs to get going in this game. Eli Manning needs to get the ball into his best weapon’s hands and we all know that best weapon is Odell Beckham. The offensive line needs to hold up against an attacking defense that has new vigor under Dan Quinn. The Giants need to get going in this game. Manning has to play better and so does everyone on the offense.

The Giants were impressive in week 1. But they really were fortunate to be in position to win last week. The offense wasn’t phenomenal by any standard and the defense was on the field an awful long time. Give the Giants some credit for scraping together a gritty performance but there are a bunch of problems that were exposed last week.

I hate to do it but I think the Falcons win this game in a shootout. The Giants will have trouble taking away the big play from the Falcons playmakers. The Giants offense still hasn’t found its groove. Things will improve greatly in week 2 but the Giants will not put up enough points to win this one.
