The moment we all have been waiting for is finally here… Victor Cruz will play next Sunday. In a video for Bleacher Report, Cruz declared he would be back against the Bills.
This is big news in Giants Nation. The offense has finally started to click. With Cruz back in the starting line up the Giants offense could be unstoppable. In theory the combination of Odell Beckham Jr. and Cruz would be the most potent combination in the NFL.
But how much can we really expect from Cruz, who has not played since week six of last season? Expect the Giants to give Cruz a good bit of rest on the sidelines with limited reps. Remember Cruz has to readjust to the most physical and lightning fast sport there is.
That being said defensive coordinators must respect the threat that is Victor Cruz. He will certainly take some pressure off Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle. When Cruz returns to his flashy play no defense will be able to man up on all these weapons effectively.
Hopefully Cruz has a big game against the Bills. While we can’t expect it the Giants could really use it. The Bills defense throttled Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins yesterday. In week one they dominated Andrew Luck and the Colts. In a game where the Giants need all hands on deck it is good to get Cruz back.
We will have to wait to see what happens next Sunday. This however is certainly good news for the New York Giants. The team has been patient and cautious in Cruz’s rehabbing from injury.
