2. The 49ers Have Big Play Potential

It goes back to point #1: this is still an NFL team, and they still have the pieces to win Sunday’s game. A few of those pieces are Torrey Smith, Reggie Bush, and Carlos Hyde, who all have excellent play-making ability.

One of the Giants’ Achilles’ heels during the Coughlin era has been their susceptibility to give up the big play. The Giants have to keep their eyes on these three. Smith is a deep threat while Hyde–while a better rusher than receiver–can do a lot with the ball in his hands should he catch some passes underneath–a Bush specialty–and something the Giants have had trouble defending this season.

No Vernon Davis helps, but the Giants will have to keep a close eye on all three of these guys this week.
