New York Giants Embarrass Themselves In 27-7 Loss

The New York Giants lost to the Philadelphia Eagles but they truly beat themselves. On a night where Sam Bradford threw 3 interceptions and the Giants recovered a fumble the Giants got their pride stomped on. Think about that for a second, the Eagles played better but they didn’t have to play well to beat the Giants.

The Giants started the Monday Night Football game off with a bang. They quickly marched down the field and concluded their opening act with a beautiful Odell Beckham Jr. touchdown strike. The Giants offense would go on to do very little for the rest of the game.

The Giants defense did everything it could. The Giants forced 4 turnovers and gave the offense plenty of chances to get back into the game. Just when you thought the Giants defense had exhausted its final fumes, Landon Collins got an interception in the end zone. The Giants went three and out. Wasted chances will haunt the Giants after allowing the Eagles to creep into first place in the NFC East.

The Giants beat themselves in every conceivable fashion. For example a Damontre Moore sack on the one yard line was nullified by having too many players on the field. Manning threw the most telegraphed pick six I have seen this season and Rashad Jennings lost a fumble. Brad Wing had one of the worst punts I have ever seen.

This was a pathetic showing by the Giants. They had a golden opportunity to take control of the race for the NFC East title and they blew it. The offensive line was horrendous. Marshall Newhouse got picked apart more than a steamed crab. It was just a bad night all the way around for the Giants. Everything about this game was a massive disappointment for the Big Blue faithful.
