Giants Vs. Patriots: A Classic Shootout

The New York Giants are set to do battle with the New England Patriots in the late afternoon time slot. There will be many eyes on this game. This is because it is a matchup that has been played out in two recent Super Bowls. There is a lot of history here.
The Giants are 5-4 and eager to get their sixth win of the season. They must stay ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles, who beat them 27-7 earlier this season. Considering the Eagles have beat them 5 times in a row they want a bigger cushion heading into the week 17 rematch.

The Patriots are undefeated. They have been the most complete looking team in football. Their 8-0 record is reminiscent of their 18-0 record that the 2007 Giants spoiled. The Patriots are heavily favored but we’ve knocked them down before in Giants Nation.

If you’re a betting man, the over must be a little tempting in this game. The Patriots and Giants are both capable of keeping the scoreboard operator in a frenzy. Remember the Giants 52-49 battle with the Saints?
Malcolm Butler is good but Odell Beckham Jr. is better. The Giants have other weapons as well. Rueben Randle and Larry Donnell are both capable of having big days. I also have a sneaky suspicion that the Giants are going to get Shane Vereen heavily involved against his former team.

Next: Can The Giants Really Knock Off The Patriots?

I have news for you the Giants are not going to stop Tom Brady. They may not even slow him down. The Patriots offense is playing lights out and the Giants pass defense has been picked apart this season.
The Giants clearly have no answer for Rob Gronkowski. The best option is to get Brady off his game. Even when you consider the injury problems on the Patriots offensive line it’s hard to be enthused about the Giants pass rush.

This is the kind of game that Eli Manning gets going for. Expect Manning to have a big day. Expect a shootout for the ages in this one. The matchups suggest that’s what we’ll see today.
