If you’ve seen “Trading Places” starring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, you’re probably familiar with the clip above in which Murphy’s character Billy Ray Valentine shows off his limousine to the guys he shared a jail cell with the night before. That big dude who follows up everything his buddy says with, “Yeah!” is former Giants guard J.T. Turner. Yeah! There were 335 total picks in the 1977 NFL Draft and Duke offensive lineman Turner was one of three notable Giants who went undrafted; the other two were Florida A&M linebacker Frank Marion and New Mexico State QB Joe Pisarcik. Turner played in 102 games for the G-Men, starting 87 over seven season, and accumulating approximate value of 37 with Big Blue, never earning more than a 7, which happened in the strike-shortened 1982 campaign.
