NFL Draft 2016: Top 8 Safeties New York Giants Should Target
By Neal Lynch

4. T.J. Green, Clemson Tigers
Height: 6-2 | Weight: 205 | Projected Round: 3-4
T.J. is foregoing his senior season at Clemson to enter this year’s draft, which some feel might be premature. Green’s only had one full season as a starter, but in that span he collected 95 combined tackles (5.5 for loss), three passes defended and two forced fumbles. His 67 solo tackles were 5th most in the ACC.
Green earned a grade of 5.53 at the scouting combine, which was 7th best among safeties, and was the top performer in the 40 yard dash (4.34 seconds) and the broad jump (129 inches).

An executive in the NFC stated:
"“There is a buzz going around about him from some people I talk to on a regular basis but I’m not sure where it is coming from. He’s fast, but what else?”"
Draft analyst Zierlein compared T.J. to Cedric Thompson, a 5th round pick out of Minnesota who went to the Dolphins but didn’t play in 2015.
Here’s Lance’s bottom line:
"“Green’’s coverage potential is evident, but he might need time on the bench to watch and learn early on.”"
From WalterFootball, who ranked Green 9th best among safety prospects:
"“Throughout the season, he flashed some impressive play but also some busts. Sources at some teams like Green and are giving him consideration as a third- or fourth-rounder.”"
NFLDraftScout ranked him 3rd best among free safeties in this year’s draft.
