The Giants selected Notre Dame defensive end Justin Tuck 74th overall in the 3rd round of the 2005 NFL Draft, a handful of picks before Alabama Crimson Tide guard Evan Mathis went to the Carolina Panthers and Nebraska Cornhuskers guard Richie Incognito went to the St. Louis Rams.

He made the Pro Bowl twice, in 2008 and 2010, and was a first-team All-Pro in 2008 when his approximate value of 18 remains third best of all-time. His 12 sackes in 2008 were 7th most in the league. Tuck was also the Associated Press and Pro Football Writers Association first-team All-NFL that year.

In 2010, he earned 2nd-team All-NFL for the AP and 1st Team for the PFWA. His 11.5 sacks that year were 7th best in the NFL. Justin also earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice – Week 13 of the 2013 season and Week 1 of the 2009 campaign.

Before he retired this past offseason, Tuck was 16th on the active career sacks leaders list. The 18 forced fumbles is third most in franchise history while his 60.5 sacks put him 6th on the Giants all-time list. Justin’s Giants approximate value of 66 is 11th among defenders.
