4. Return Game

The New York Giants have a force in the return game in star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The dilemma with the having Beckham return punts, however, is that he’s too valuable to the offense to risk being hurt on special teams.

Christian McCaffrey could supplant Paul Perkins as the No. 1 running back, but he could also be a less risky player to feature in the return game.

McCaffrey was somewhat limited as a return man in 2016, but he was dominant during the 2015 season. He returned 15 punts for 130 yards and a touchdown, and had 37 kick returns for 1,070 yards and one score.

If the Giants were to feature McCaffrey as the kick return man and Beckham as a punt returner, the special teams would border on being as dominant as the defense.

McCaffrey’s quick hips and fast feet make him the perfect player to return kickoffs for the Giants in 2017 and beyond. He can make just as significant an impact returning punts, as evidenced by the touchdown that almost was against Kansas State.

If the Giants are going to solidify the return game, then pairing Beckham with McCaffrey would be an unstoppable combination.
