The Trojans 6-foot, 200-pound running back may not get as much attention playing alongside Sam Darnold, but draft analysts are clearly not sleeping on him.

Kiper has Jones listed as the No. 2 running back prospect in this year’s class, while Miller has him listed as the third best tailback. Jones has shown steady improvement through three seasons at USC and will be in the national spotlight when the Trojans take on Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.

An impressive game against the Buckeyes combined with his 140-yard, two touchdown performance in the Pac-12 Championship could potentially lead to a first-round selection.

Miller lists the Trojans running back as the 18th best overall prospect should he elect to enter the 2018 draft. Over the course of three seasons, Jones has amassed 3,835 all-purpose yards and has scored 41 touchdowns.

The Giants seem unlikely to draft the USC running back given their current draft selection. But if Jones were to fall to the second-round, he could fill a void that’s been missing from Big Blue’s backfield for quite some time.
