Marcus Davenport has quickly risen up draft analysts’ big boards following the Senior Bowl. The 6-foot-6, 255-pound defensive end amassed 37.5 tackles for a loss, 21.5 sacks, and six forced fumble in four seasons in San Antonio.

Jeremiah lists him as the 10th best overall player in this year’s class due to his “rare size, athleticism, and effort.” Three out of four draft analysts for NFL Network have the UTSA prospect going in the top 10. ESPN’s Mel Kiper has him going to the Green Bay Packers at No. 14 overall in his latest mock draft.

Unless the G-Men decide to trade back, Davenport is likely to end up elsewhere. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be on Big Blue’s draft board come April. Davenport has the ability to succeed as a 4-3 defensive end with his hand in the dirt or could excel as a 3-4 outside linebacker at the next level.
