No. 2 – Olivier Vernon vs. Jason Peters

Olivier Vernon will finally make his 2018 debut on Thursday Night Football. The former second-team All-Pro missed the team’s first five games with a high-ankle sprain, and New York’s pass rush has been non-existent without No. 54.

It’s unknown how many snaps Vernon will take in his first game back, but his matchup against Jason Peters is undoubtedly one to watch. Philadelphia’s nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle has played well since returning from a season-ending knee injury in 2017 and will look to keep Wentz clean on Thursday night.

The Giants were expecting big things out of Vernon in James Bettcher’s defense, and they clearly need him to elevate their pass rush. Through five games, the G-Men are tied for the fewest team sacks (6) in the NFL.

The Eagles, on the other hand, have twice as many quarterback takedowns as the Giants in 2018. Big Blue must get after the quarterback in this Week 6 tilt, and all eyes will be on Vernon in his return.
