West Virginia QB Will Grier
The Mountaineers senior quarterback may be the most intriguing prospect in this year’s class. The 6-foot-2, 223-pound Florida transfer has put up some jaw-dropping numbers in a season and a half at West Virginia, but he has also had his issues with turnovers.
Will Grier’s draft stock definitely took a hit against Iowa State on Saturday. After throwing three interceptions against Kansas, Grier struggled heavily in Ames, completed just 11-of-15 passes for 100 yards with one touchdown and an interception.
Despite the Mountaineers quarterback’s poor performances against the Wildcats and Cyclones, he still remains in the Heisman Trophy conversation with 22 touchdowns passes to seven interceptions.
There are questions about Grier’s arm strength and size, but he does have the tools to be a starting NFL quarterback. Whether he is worthy of a top 10 draft selection is another story, one that likely won’t be answered until long after the college football season.
