New York Giants: 6 possible franchise quarterbacks in 2019 NFL Draft
By Henry Buggy
Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins
If there’s one quarterback on the rise in this year’s draft class, it’s Dwayne Haskins. The Buckeyes redshirt sophomore has been nothing short of sensational, leading OSU to a 7-0 start.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound quarterback is completing 72.3 percent of his passes and has accounted for the most touchdowns passes (28) in the FBS through the midway point of the college season.
Pro Football Focus has the New England Patriots selecting the Buckeyes quarterback with the last pick in the first round of their mock draft. It also must be noted that PFF’s Steve Palazzolo has the G-Men taking Herbert with the No. 1 overall pick in the same mock draft.
Haskins is currently one of the frontrunners for the Heisman Trophy, but he will need to finish the season strong to remain atop draft boards. Ohio State still faces Michigan State and Michigan down the stretch. Anything short of Big Ten title is considered a failure in Columbus.
