New York Giants: 6 possible franchise quarterbacks in 2019 NFL Draft
By Henry Buggy
Duke QB Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones has been on the NFL radar for some time now, but he lacked the consistency teams look for in his first two seasons. In his junior year, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound quarterback is receiving high praise.
He has thrown just eight touchdowns to two interceptions but missed two games with a broken collarbone. Jones is considered one of the top risers to watch for the 2019 NFL Draft, according to Pro Football Focus. He ranks among the top quarterbacks in college football in adjusted completion percentage on throws of 20-plus yards.
CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso has the G-Men selecting the Blue Devils quarterback with the No. 9 overall pick in his mock draft.
The Giants have been missing the deep threat with Manning this season, and maybe Jones could be the quarterback to bring back an aerial attack to Big Blue.
