There were many pleasant surprises and unexpected disappointments when the NY Giants made their 53-man roster after waiver claims Sunday.

The NY Giants officially trimmed their roster down to 53 players, never an easy task for a coaching staff, as difficult decisions have to be made.

This week is one of the hardest weeks on the NFL calendar for all parties involved. Coaches must instantly go from figuring out their entire roster to then getting into a game-week mindset and preparation for Week 1. It’s even more critical this year with no preseason games.

After Saturday, many players were waived and many reverted back to the team’s practice squad. There were many notable names that survived the cuts and many names that didn’t.
