3. Slater elevates NY Giants’ offensive playmakers

Slater is skilled at pass protection and run-blocking; this is crucial especially if Giants fans are looking for breakout seasons from Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley.

Barkley and Jones both struggled last year under a weak offensive line. Slater would certainly sturdy up the line and allow other offensive playmakers to blossom.

DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle would be flashier picks with otherworldly highlight reels, but it would all be for naught if Jones can’t get the ball out of his hands. No matter how good a franchise quarterback may be, a strong offensive line is the backbone of every great offense.

Russell Wilson himself has expressed frustration over the ineffectiveness of his offensive line during his time with  Seattle and it has lead to constant trade rumors this past offseason. Even Patrick Mahomes cannot be effective with a weak offensive line, as seen when he was running for his life during the Super Bowl this year.
