The NY Giants significantly bolstered the talent on the roster this offseason, which could leave several players on the outside looking in when the 2021 NFL season begins

To improve upon a second-place finish in the NFL’s worst division, the NY Giants have added a ton of talent on both ends of the ball this offseason. Both the NFL Draft and free agency brought the fireworks for the Giants following a 6-10 finish last season.

The NY Giants brought several big-name free agents into the fold this past March. The biggest headliner was the All-Pro wideout, Kenny Golladay, on the offensive side of the ball. On the other side of the ball, New Jersey-born Ifeadi Odenigbo, former collegiate national champion Reggie Ragland, Ryan Anderson, and Joshua Kalu have joined Patrick Graham’s defense.

The NFL Draft also brought an influx of talent that may collectively make a bigger impact on the team in 2021.

Former Florida Gators slot WR Kadarius Toney adds another big-play threat to Daniel Jones’ arsenal and LB Azeez Ojulari (Georgia) and CB Aaron Robinson (UCF) further fortify a defense that ranked in the top 10 in points given up per game.

With all of the addition comes the unfortunate part of the business: who gets the ax in the wake of the offseason transactional flurry. The position battles are set to begin in about a month and a half, so inevitably, the losers of said battles will have to stand up and face the music.

Just who might be included in the cuts? Here’s a look at five NY Giants who won’t be on the roster Week 1 against the Denver Broncos

NY Giants’ potential training camp cut #1: Ryan Santoso, K

The odds of Ryan Santoso getting the first field goal attempt of his career–he has only ever taken part in kickoffs–in 2021 for the NY Giants are not high.

After being brought back following his release in December, Santoso is likely headed to the free-agent market in hopes of finding a more permanent home after flaming out in Detroit, Minnesota, and the Big Apple.
