It’s been a while since quarterback Eli Manning was under center for the NY Giants and doing his best to win football games. It wasn’t that long ago that Manning officially retired with the franchise that drafted him and life after football began. It’s hard to truly let go of a sport you love as it’s easy to see why Manning ultimately decided to come back to Big Blue in a special business operations role.

Manning will work alongside the Giants in this new role and also do his part to create a lot of fun interactive features/events for fans attending home games in MetLife Stadium. Besides all of that, Manning is still getting the job done behind the scenes.

It’s no secret that quarterback Daniel Jones is still a work in progress as he enters his third season with the Giants. There are a lot of question marks to answer and well, Manning is still there to help Jones in his progression as a starting quarterback even in his current role.

Eli Manning continues to mentor Daniel Jones

In an article written by Mike Rosenstein of NJ.com, it was confirmed via a SiriusXM NFL Radio interview directly from Jones that he still keeps in touch with Manning daily. In the grand scheme of things, it goes to show just how much of an impact Manning still has with the Giants as this will only help their future as a whole.

Manning might not be on the sidelines anymore but being able to motivate, inspire, and help Jones go through the ups and downs of an NFL regular season will undoubtedly help the cause. For a young quarterback like Jones, this is priceless to have.

Let’s face it, we all want Jones to be a great quarterback for years to come on the Giants. Having a quarterback that actually won two Super Bowl championships with the franchise being just a text or phone call away to go over bad games or mistakes is golden. Combine that with all the young talent around Jones and it could be a recipe for a big third season with the Giants.

It just goes to show just how great Manning is and the fact that he’s still in communication with Jones when he technically doesn’t even have to be. It’s not easy to make it in the city that never sleeps since New York is ruthless when it comes to underperforming sports teams but if anyone proved to have done it in stride, it was Manning. Now let’s hope that rubs off on Jones as the Giants prepare for the season ahead.
