The Best: Eli Manning

Years: 2004-2019

Legacy: Two-time Super Bowl Champion (XLII, XLVI); Two-time Super Bowl MVP (XLII, XLVI); Giants’ All-Time Passing Leader

Could it have been anybody else?

The NY Giants have a rich, illustrious history at the quarterback position – and Eli Manning stands above them all. Perhaps the most beloved player in franchise history, Manning represented the phrase Giants Pride.

He led the team on two legendary Super Bowl runs – crowned Super Bowl MVP both times. He possesses a surplus of the franchise’s passing records – including most pass attempts, most completions, most passing yards and most passing touchdowns.

Eli never wanted to play anywhere else – he famously put his own spin on Wellington Mara’s ‘Once a Giant, Always a Giant’ phrase, saying “For me, it’s only a Giant.”

Following his retirement in January 2020, Giants’ owner John Mara announced Manning would be inducted into the Giants’ Ring of Honor – along with the retirement of his #10. He’ll almost certainly become the next Giants’ player to be enshrined in Canton.

His statistics, accolades and everything in-between makes Manning the clear number one choice.
