Slot Receiver

1) Sterling Shepard

Barring Toney lighting it up during training camp, the expectation should be Shepard reprises his role as the NY Giants’ slot receiver.

Shepard caught 66 of his 88 targets last season for 656 yards and three touchdowns, which tied him for the team-high with Slayton. One of Jones’ favorite targets, the NY Giants’ quarterback had a 102.3 passer rating when targeting Shepard last season.

Returning to the slot full-time might be where Shepard is best utilized, and he’ll likely have less pressure given the bevy of new options around him in the passing game.

2) John Ross

The NY Giants believe that they have the coaching staff in place to harness Ross’ first-round potential and game-breaking speed.

Look for Ross to get on the field both on offense, and potentially as a return-specialist.

3) Dante Pettis

Pettis flashed some potential last season, but it could become a number’s game with Ross for a spot on this year’s roster.
