The NY Giants’ 2021 NFL season is about building towards a return to the postseason, but several players on offense have much to prove this fall

While the 2020 season for the NY Giants was very disappointing, they still ended one game from the playoffs.

New York has addressed several key deficiencies within the 53 man roster and have put together, on paper at least, what could be a playoff team.  There is obviously a ton of factors that lead into a team making the playoffs.

Injury free seasons will help immensely, but a player coming off a down year with something to prove could have a major impact.

Here’s a look at the NY Giants players on offense with the most to prove this upcoming season:

Daniel Jones QB

The former Duke standout has had his ups and downs as the starting quarterback.

Granted, Jones has not been helped much; an inconsistent offensive line, no top tier wide receiver, and his star running back has been injured including missing the majority of last year.

Even still Jones has not helped himself with his turnover issues.

Jones’ decision making has been decent, albeit a mind-numbing throw into double coverage or such has been a bone of contention for most. Jones has shown flashes of being the No. 6 overall pick and his athletic ability is off the charts.

I do not believe even with an off season the Giants will give up on him.  He does however need to make a big jump in his third year, he has a young yet battle tested offensive line, a 6-foot-4 weapon at the No. 1 receiver spot, and his star running back.

While he does not need to win an MVP, he has to prove that he can carry this team and be the leader that they need.
