The NY Giants spent big on Daniel Jones’ supporting cast, but will new additions be enough to fuel a playoff run during the 2021 NFL season?

Training camp is in the books and the preseason concluded, meaning only two sleeps stand in the way of the 2021 NY Giants season kicking off this Sunday afternoon against the Denver Broncos at MetLife Stadium.

Despite all of the wheeling and dealing Giants general manager Dave Gettleman did in the offseason, there isn’t much of a consensus that this team is postseason-bound. Or that they will even get past a Denver Broncos team–one that went 5-11 in 2020–in the home opener given their current underdog status on WynnBet.

Injuries and inconsistency on the offensive end are the most worrisome things about the NY Giants at the moment.

The Giants’ offensive line has barely improved from last year’s second-worst output, and, even though there are a slew of new weapons at Daniel Jones’ disposal, we might not get to see a fully healthy WR room just yet. Prized offseason additions Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney may be slowed down by injuries this coming Sunday (and beyond) considering their hamstring ailments.

And we haven’t even gotten to Saquon Barkley and his ACL recovery. Who knows how healthy he will be this Sunday.

But enough about Sunday.

Regular season games mean less in the standings than ever before given the extra game added to the schedule, so let’s think big picture.

Fans of the NY Giants could see spectacular things happen as the season goes on, so GMENHQ has come up with these 5 bold predictions for the 2021 season:

NY Giants bold prediction #1: Saquon Barkley will operate at pre-2020 levels

An ACL injury could be detrimental to an NFL running back given the short shelf life one has playing such a violent sport at the highest level.

For Barkley, it may not prove to be any sort of noticeable detriment considering his workhorse back status before the injury.

While Joe Judge may lean on his deep, if not elite, RB room to alleviate the amount of pain Barkley feels from rigorous wear and tear this season, when the Penn State product is on the field, we may still see the same breakaway speed and absence of fear in meeting a defender head on we are used to seeing from #26.
