NY Giants Week 1 inactives vs. Denver Broncos
As expected, NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley is active, and will play Week 1 against the Denver Broncos
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The NY Giants made it official, announcing that star running back Saquon Barkley will play in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, ahead of kickoff.
Barkley makes his return from a torn ACL suffered against the Chicago Bears during Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season.
Here’s a look at the Giants‘ inactives for Sunday’s game against the Broncos:
WR – Collin Johnson
CB – Josh Jackson
CB – Sam Beal
TE – Evan Engram
LB – Quincy Roche
Engram was ruled out following Friday’s practice, after the Pro Bowler was unable to practice during the week leading up to the game due to the lingering effects of a calf injury suffered in the preseason finale against the New England Patriots.
In Engram’s absence, the NY Giants will turn to Kyle Rudolph, making his Giants debut, and Kaden Smith.
Rudolph did not play in any of the NY Giants three preseason games, due to a foot injury that was discovered around the time he signed as a free agent this spring.
Meanwhile, the Broncos will be without star pass-rusher Bradley Chubb, who is inactive due to an ankle injury.
