Some of the NY Giants’ biggest stars led the way for the franchise’s most impressive victory in years, an overtime upset of the Saints
The NY Giants got their first win of the season, in dramatic fashion Sunday afternoon, against the Saints in a charged up Caesars SuperDome in New Orleans.
This was the first home game for Nola since Hurricane Ida, but the Giants were able to withstand the raucous atmosphere, and onslaught of the Saints offense, flying home with a 27-21 win.
Saquon Barkley’s touchdown in overtime sealed the game, but Daniel Jones had his strongest performance of his career.
New York didn’t have Sterling Shepard or Darius Slayton, but were able to take advantage of the other weapons they had on offense.
The NY Giants are now 1-3, and will head to Texas next Sunday to play their division rival; the Dallas Cowboys.
Here is a look at the studs” and duds from the NY Giants’ win over the Saints:
NY Giants QB Daniel Jones: STUD
The first stud of the game was quarterback Daniel Jones.
Jones had one of the best games of his career. He completed 28-of-40 passes, for a career-high 402 yards, two touchdowns, and a 108.5 passer rating. He led the Giants down the field for the tying field goal in the final three minutes. He also made some clutch throws to receivers during crunch time in overtime, going 5-for-5 for 67 yards on the final winning drive.
“He had a heck of a game,” coach Joe Judge said.
Rookie Kadarius Toney also said, “Man, that was a great performance by Daniel!”
