The Ugly From Week 6

This game was as ugly as it gets for the NY Giants. Things were going well for the first 19 minutes or so of the game before the defense got gashed up the field on the Rams’ opening drive of the second quarter. The Giants relinquished their 3-0 lead and never came close to competing again the rest of the way.

The Giants gave up four touchdowns in the 2nd quarter. To make it worse, it happened in just about 10 minutes of the game clock. It’s a paltry number for a defense that was expected to be significantly better than what they’ve shown in 2021. Patrick Graham has lost his lust as a guru on the coaching side and his defense seems completely broken.

The NY Giants’ offense never found its footing again after the 1st drive. Kadarius Toney seemed to be the only one to jet-start this offense. they had numerous three-and-outs, they blew a 4th and 1 opportunity, and they turned the ball over too many times. The receivers dropped easy passes, they appeared to run some of the wrong routes, and they can’t create enough separation to ever consistently win.

The offensive line was overwhelmed today. They couldn’t contain Donald, even with extra attention and double-teams headed his way.

The NY Giants are now back to where they were last year at 1-5. They appear to have no hope of saving this season. Things were supposed to be better in 2021, but seemingly have gone backward and arguably is much worse given the talent at hand. Joe Judge needs to right the ship immediately before he starts heading down an ugly path similar to that of Ray Handley or Ben McAdoo.
