2) Sterling Shepard sets season-high in receiving yards

Darius Slayton sounded optimistic about his chances of playing, when speaking to reporters following Friday’s practice, and his presence might unlock some opportunities for other receivers in the passing game.

Entering Sunday’s contest, Sterling Shepard eclipsed 100 yards just once so far this season, back in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos.

That could change, in a big way, against Carolina.

The Panthers defense enters Sunday, surrendering 196.8 passing yards per game. There’s a really good chance that Shepard continues to be Jones’ favorite target, and surpasses his season-high 113 yard performance this Sunday.
