Danny Shelton to the Chiefs:

The NY Giants signed Danny Shelton in the 2021 off-season to help improve their run defense. However, the NY Giants have not been utilizing him all that often, only playing him in 32% of snaps throughout 6 weeks.

With Austin Johnson filling the role that Shelton was supposed to, it would make sense for the NY Giants to attempt to trade him in order to get something out of him.

In 2020, Shelton played in 12 games in which he put up 37 combined tackles and a sack while playing in 59% of snaps. Not bad.

Shelton’s contract expires after this season so it would make sense for the NY Giants to attempt to move him instead of losing him for nothing.

The Kansas City Chiefs could be an ideal fit for Shelton.

The Chiefs have been struggling mightily on the defensive end. Ranking 6th in rushing yards allowed, 3rd in rushing TD’s allowed, and 6th in rushing yards allowed per attempt.

Kansas City could really use a run stopper in Shelton.

Shelton could potentially fetch a sixth or seventh-round pick, but for the rate at which we are using him it is better to get something rather than nothing.
