Daniel Jones leads the NY Giants in rushing … Again

The NY Giants will be without Saquon Barkley for the fourth consecutive game, since Barkley suffered an ankle injury back in Week 5.

Without Barkley, the NY Giants haven’t exactly embodied the ground-and-pound offense that general manager Dave Gettleman envisioned and the organization spent the past several offseasons trying to build.

Through eight weeks, Daniel Jones leads the NY Giants in rushing. With 241 yards.

Jones has finished as the Giants’ leading rusher two times through the first eight weeks of the season, with outputs of 27 and 95 yards. Don’t be surprised if Jones is again a focal point of the ground attack.

The Raiders enter Sunday allowing just over 153 yards rushing per game, which could lead to a renewed commitment to the ground game from the NY Giants, and also an emphasis once again on Jones read-option runs.

Sunday could be the kind of afternoon that Jones leads the Giants with somewhere in the area of 68 yards and possibly a touchdown.
