NY Giants offensive line: D+

While the NY Giants offensive line only surrendered one sack on the game, their run blocking was down-right awful, giving no space for Saquon Barkley to run throughout the game.

As previously mentioned, the offensive line, in particular Will Hernandez, was the primary blame for Mike Glennon’s first interception.

Hernandez has struggled all season to understand and diagnose different defensive stunts. Rendering him borderline unplayable at multiple points this season.

A good example that highlights the NY Giants offensive line struggles occurs here:

On this play, Glennon takes the snap on 3rd and 15, however, he is quickly forced to run out of the pocket and throw a check down to Devontae Booker because both Nate Solder and Will Hernandez were both ran right through the moment the ball was snapped.

At first, it seemed like this was a poorly ran screen, but it turns out Hernandez and Solder are just that bad.

An interesting point during this game was when the NY Giants decided to bench Nate Solder for Matt Peart.

However, any excitement quickly faded when Peart got two false start penalties in one drive. With one of these false starts coming on 4th and 1 with the NY Giants ready to go for it, this caused them to punt.

While throughout the game Peart did not do terribly, he was still not very good. Getting beat off the edge multiple times throughout the game.

The NY Giants offensive line had a very up-and down game this week, looking solid at some moments in pass-blocking snaps, yet very bad in multiple run-blocking snaps. While we have certainly seen worse, this was still unacceptable.
