Daboll is the first candidate to interview for the New York Giants’ head coaching vacancy for a second time, Tuesday at the team’s East Rutherford facility, an indicator of how strong his candidacy is.

Following the Bills’ 42-36 overtime loss in Sunday’s thrilling AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Daboll’s star couldn’t be shining much brighter.

If the New York Giants remain committed to Daniel Jones at quarterback, which is likely dependent on how Schoen views the No. 6 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, there isn’t a more qualified candidate to oversee Jones’ development after his success turning Josh Allen into one of the league’s premier passers.

Allen’s success is linked to Daboll, and why Daboll is one of the more coveted coaches this hiring cycle. But, Daboll could be drawn, according to sources, to the Miami Dolphins’ vacancy, because of the chance to reunite with Tua Tagovailoa, who he coached at the University of Alabama.

But, given the Bills’ offensive success, the Giants’ myriad weapons, and his track record of developing quarterbacks, there’s a reason many believe Daboll is a favorite to land the Giants job. If he wants it.
