DT Harrison Phillips: 2018 NFL Draft, round 3, pick No. 96

The Bills were in need of some interior defensive line depth entering the 2018 NFL Draft, and boy did they not disappoint when they selected Harrison Phillips out of Stanford in the 3rd round.

Similar to Knox, it took Phillips some time to become a full-time starter, as the Bills already had some talent ahead of him, however, Phillips finally got his chance to play a good amount of snaps this year, playing a career-high 55 percent of defensive snaps during the 2021 season.

In 14 games played this season, Harrison Phillips tallied 51 combined tackles, 1 sack, 4 tackles for loss, and 6 QB hits, gaining an impressive 77.4 PFF grade, the highest among all of them started on the Bills defensive line.

Harrison Phillips made a difference in the Bills rushing defense, helping them be the number one rushing defense in the NFL.

With both of the NY Giants defensive tackles in Austin Johnson and Danny Shelton on expiring contracts, there is a good chance they look towards the draft to replace the two. If Joe Schoen is able to draft a player similar to Harrison Phillips it would make a huge difference for the NY Giants rushing defense, as they ranked 18th in rushing yards allowed and 16th in rushing TD’s allowed this season.
