Tight End

Following the New York Giants releasing veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph, combined with the unlikely return of free agent Evan Engram, the New York Giants’ best tight end currently on the roster … may be Kaden Smith, a solid player, but not the guy to lead the position.

There likely aren’t any tight ends worth taking where the New York Giants select in the first round, there are several names who could be available in the 3rd-4th rounds who have tons of potential.

Whether it be Greg Dulcich, or Isaiah Likely, the New York Giants should heavily consider drafting one of the two players I listed.

Greg Dulcich, out of UCLA, had himself a very solid final season, catching 42 passes for 725 yards and 5 TD’s in 12 games played, showcasing his potential as a receiving threat in the NFL. Receiving is without a doubt Dulcich’s best aspect, as he struggles at times with blocking. However, he definitely has the frame to be a solid blocker if he works on his technique.

As for Isaiah Likely, I have spoken highly of him on several occasions, as he has star potential in this league, and unlike Dulcich, he has the potential to be a solid blocker right out of the gate in the NFL.

While it is not certain, Likely definitely shown his potential as a blocker at several moments throughout the season for Coastal Carolina.

In 13 games played, Isaiah Likely caught 59 passes for 912 yards and 12TD’s, showcasing his deadliness as both an open-field runner, and a red zone threat, there are very few things Isaiah Likely cannot do on the football field. If he is available for the NY Giants to select in the third round, whether it be with their first or second pick in said round, the NY Giants should select him, and feel great about it.
