The future is bright for NY Giants first-round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux. Taken No. 5 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, Thibodeaux has what it takes to be a true superstar in this league. If team legend Michael Strahan has anything to do with it, he’ll make sure the pass-rusher lives up to the hype and produces for this team from the moment he takes the gridiron in the pros.

Shortly after he was drafted by the G-Men, Thibodeaux revealed that he’s developed a close relationship with Strahan. Strahan will go down in history as one of the best players in New York history, as the Hall of Famer was a sack machine for the Giants. With him taking Thibodeaux under his wing, it only has fans even more excited for what’s to come.

Kayvon Thibodeaux is a big admirer of NY Giants legend Michael Strahan

“So I would say last year – probably fall camp – was when I first had the first Zoom with him and then I got to meet him,” Thibodeaux told the media on his first time meeting Strahan. “Now actually seeing him and really talking to him and building that relationship has been dope.”

Strahan will never be forgotten in New York or New Jersey, as he helped the Giants win the Super Bowl in 2008. The seven-time Pro Bowler was a total force for the Giants, finishing his career with a mind-blowing 141.5 sacks. No one is trying to compare Thibodeaux to the Giants Ring of Honor member, but the fact that Strahan is teaching him about what it takes to succeed with the team sure is awesome.

After his outstanding time in Eugene with the Oregon Ducks, Thibodeaux is ready to hit the ground running with the Giants. With his knack for getting to the quarterback, people are already envisioning him recording his first sack for the team. MetLife Stadium will be rocking for his home debut, as Thibodeaux surely can’t wait to show the people in the stands why he’s so highly regarded.

Among the people who will be ready to see what he can do this fall will be Strahan. Thibodeaux has plenty of haters out there – especially in Dallas, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. – but he’ll be ready to silence them from start to finish in 2022. Strahan will no doubt be ready to see the youngster shut everyone up as well.
