NY Giants fans are getting ready to see the full schedule release for the 2022 campaign, but it looks like we know who new head coach Brian Daboll and Co. will be taking on Week 1 thanks to a leak.
According to team insider Ryan Dunleavy, the G-Men will be traveling to Tennessee to open the season to take on Ryan Tannehill and the Titans. This has been rumored as the first possible game for the Giants and now Dunleavy’s sources have confirmed the news for him.
Who do the NY Giants play Week 1?
This will be a huge showdown in early September for New York, as Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and the rest of the offense will look to keep pace with Tannehill and Derrick Henry. This will be a new-look Tennessee team, though, as the team pulled off its shocking trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on NFL Draft night which sent A.J. Brown to the NFC East.
In addition to the matchup with the Titans to kickstart the 2022 campaign, Dunleavy is also reporting that New York’s first home game at MetLife Stadium will be against the Carolina Panthers. That’ll be an East Rutherford homecoming for Sam Darnold, who of course has plenty of haters in the area after he never worked out for the New York Jets. Darnold spent three forgettable seasons with the team.
As for the Giants, 2022 brings much needed fresh air for the organization and things are looking promising with first-round picks Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal ready to bring plenty of excitement for people in the stands for years to come. Jones and Barkley are ready to silence plenty of haters this upcoming season as well.
The full schedule release will be dropped soon enough too. There will be plenty of pressure on the NY standouts to deliver this year and we now know they’ll get their first chance to make some head-turning plays in Nashville going up against the Titans. People can’t wait for that game’s kickoff to arrive, as it should be a fun one.
