NY Giants preseason schedule is set and Joe Judge is back in your life
What’s next, a reunion with Dave Gettleman? Earlier this year, the NY Giants made the easy call to fire former head coach Joe Judge. He spent two miserable seasons with the G-Men and it was clear from the start he wasn’t ready to take over a team. Now, Judge is back with the New England Patriots as an offensive assistant and things are going as poorly as you might have imagined.
While Judge is now focusing on his new gig with the Pats, no NY fan has forgotten about how poorly he performed with the team. Come early August, Judge and the Giants will meet again, as New York dropped its locked in preseason schedule and the Patriots are the first team on the list. Oh, the intrigue.
NY Giants will open the preseason against the New England Patriots
Aug. 11 will surely be a day to remember. Judge must be thanking his lucky stars that this game will be in Foxborough and not in East Rutherford. Had Judge and Co. made their way to MetLife Stadium, there’s no question that thousands of fans in the stands would boo the heck out of the former head coach.
Instead, this contest will be played at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. Regardless of that, it sure will be weird for some of the Giants players to see Judge on the other side of the field. This will be the first contest where Brian Daboll will be running the show. We don’t have to tell you how excited people are that it’s Daboll now leading this team over Judge.
For the Patriots, the team is yet to decide on who will be calling the offensive plays, but things are down to Judge and Matt Patricia. Everyone knew Bill Belichick would have a hard time trying to replace Josh McDaniels – the new head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders – but Judge and Patricia are his two best options?
Once this preseason matchup between the Giants and Patriots rolls around, nothing would be sweeter than to see Judge calling the plays and then New York keeping the Pats offense silent from start to finish. If Adoree’ Jackson were to record an interception, people would be jumping up and down with joy too. A Giants reunion indeed is coming for Judge and that’s not going to be fun experience for him.
