2. The front seven

Just two months ago, the pass rush and offensive line groups were the two biggest weaknesses of the last decade, but now they both seem like strengths. After drafting Kayvon Thibodeaux fifth overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Giants have quite the formidable group of pass rushers on paper.

With Wink Martindale bringing his blitz heavy 3-4 defense to the Giants this season, the Giants will likely line up Leonard Williams, Justin Ellis, and Dexter Lawerence on the defensive line and Kavyon Thibodeaux, Blake Martinez, Micah McFadden, and Azeez Ojulari at the linebacker positions.

That is quite the talented group that should wreak havoc on opposing offenses. Lawerence, Ellis, and Williams all have a prowess for stopping the run and Williams had 11.5 sacks in 2020. Ojulari and Thibodeaux could be an elite pass rushing tandem, as Ojulari had eight sacks last season breaking the Giants rookie record and Thibodeaux had 22 sacks in his three-year college career.

Martinez is a tackling machine who ranks near the top of the NFL tackle board every season and McFadden was drafted because he is a very similar player to Martinez. The Giants have the perfect complement of run stopping, pass rushing, tackling machines that can put a fear into opposing offenses.
