NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has had plenty of people show him some support in the past week. Team legend Eli Manning delivered another message of support for him, which was no doubt amazing to see. Now, you can add former quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to the list of people pulling for the fourth-year quarterback? That appears to be the case.

Fitzpatrick won’t be suiting up on Sundays moving forward, as he officially announced his retirement earlier this offseason. He’ll be ready to watch other QBs do their things this fall, and he’ll be paying close attention to Jones.

Matter of fact, Fitzpatrick told the New York Post he believes in new head coach Brian Daboll bring out the best in the NY starter.

Ryan Fitzpatrick believes in NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones

"“I didn’t know that he was going to be as athletic as he is,” Fitzpatrick told the Post’s Andrew Marchand. “But, this is a make or break year for him. He knows that and everybody in the world knows that. So it’s not going to be a matter of is he putting in the work, because I know that he’s got a strong work ethic. But, it’s gonna be about results this year. Is he going to be able to produce or not? And I’ll say this, you know, with his new coach, and what they’ve already been able to do with Josh Allen. You take a guy that was low-50s completion-percentage guy and (Brian Daboll) brought him all the way up to the top five – 67-68 percent, whatever it was. That was Josh Allen, but a lot of that was also Brian Daboll on what he was able to do. So, hopefully they can get on the same page and get comfortable quickly, and I think Daboll is going to do great things for his career.”"

As Fitzpatrick mentioned, the pressure will be on Jones to deliver some positive results for this team in 2022. After going 4-13 last season, the Giants simply must bounce back in a major way and Jones will have countless eyes on him to make sure that gets done. If it doesn’t, there’s no way general manager Joe Schoen will put a new contract on the table for him.

Despite plenty of people doubting Jones leading up to Week 1, Fitzpatrick, the true definition of an NFL journeyman, believes in what Jones will be able to get done under the direction of Daboll. Don’t forget about the exciting offense that Mike Kafka is ready to run as well.

With Saquon Barkley looking ripped beyond belief and playing with some swagger, it’s only going to help Jones bring out his best. Having someone like Daboll working closely with Jones and Joe Judge way out of the picture is a major blessing for the former No. 6 overall pick. Fitzpatrick, along with Giants Nation, can’t wait to see what ‘Danny Dimes’ can accomplish starting in early September against Tennessee.
