2. Is Saquon Barkley trustworthy as an offensive focal point?

After taking the league by storm, accumulating over 2,000 total yards and 15 touchdowns in his rookie season in 2018, Barkley has missed 21 games due to various injuries over the past three years. In that same time frame, with the limited action Barkley has seen on the field, his production has fallen off drastically. With the 2022 season being his last year under contract, Daboll and the Giants need to find out in training camp whether Barkley can be an offensive focal point for 2022 and, potentially, beyond.

With the offensive line overhaul this offseason by general manager Joe Schoen, bringing in 11 new offensive linemen and four new starters, it is reasonable to expect the Giants offensive line will be better this season and open up holes for Barkley.

With an improved wide receiver room and Daboll’s genius as an offensive mind, who throws the ball over double the amount times he runs the ball, it should take some pressure and defensive focus off of Barkley. Daboll may be able to utilize Barkley as a receiver, one of the strengths of his game as well. But, training camp will tell Daboll and the coaching staff whether Barkley has the same speed and burst he once did.
