6. Darnay Holmes has been downright electric

One of the position battles to watch entering camp was the slot CB one between Darnay Holmes and rookie Cor’Dale Flott. So far, it’s been advantage Holmes, as the cornerback has lived up to the hype in a big way. Holmes has multiple interceptions to his name, including a diving one in the red zone that people are still talking about.

Holmes knew that he had to bring his best game during camp to solidify a starting spot and extensive playing time. He’s answered the call for new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale in the best way possible. With this being such a young unit too, the fact that Holmes is emerging as a leader for the secondary has been a massive positive.

The losses of James Bradberry, Logan Ryan and Jabrill Peppers is going to leave a huge void in the secondary. It’ll be on guys like Xavier McKinney, Holmes and others to try and raise the spirits of the secondary and make sure everyone is operating at a high level. Holmes has been a standout at camp and things are only going to get better for him.
