4 main Daniel Jones takeaways from Day 5 of NY Giants camp

1. The Giants defense attacked early and often
The Wink Martindale-led Giants defense attacked throughout practice. They blitzed nearly every third-down, bringing the heat on the offense.
In recent history, the Giants offense has steadily been under pressure. Jones has often been plagued by opposing pass-rushers. This constant state of pressure has had to have played some role in his struggles over the years.
Now, with a much-improved defense full of pass-rushing talent, Jones could potentially find a way to deal with this pressure in a better way. He’ll get used to the pressure by dealing with it in practice. With a new offensive line, and an offense full of talent, there is hope that Jones will not constantly be under pressure. But there are no guarantees.
With young tackles in Andrew Thomas and Evan Neal, Jones should be safe for the foreseeable future. With Mark Glowinski leading the interior, the Giants will have a proven leader on the inside. Practicing with a defense that regularly brings pressure could be what Daniel Jones and this Giants offense needs.
