We’ve seen multiple guys make several amazing plays for the NY Giants at training camp, but there’s no denying star wideout Kenny Golladay hasn’t been as electric as we’re used to seeing. Golladay is in dire need of a huge 2022 campaign after he didn’t live up to the hype for the team last season.
People are still calling out Golladay for finishing the year with zero touchdowns. That was brutal to see. Golladay is obviously hungry to quiet down all of his doubters. When speaking to the media this week, Golladay said it’s not about going out and putting on a show for people to write about. Instead, Golladay is in a battle with himself to get better.
WR Kenny Golladay isn’t here to impress anyone
In that clip above, you see a humble, yet motivated Golladay. After he signed his four-year contract with the Giants last offseason, the hope was that he’d continue to ball out and solidify himself as one of the best wide receivers in the NFC. Instead, you could see just how frustrated he was throughout the campaign that he wasn’t being featured in the offense.
Golladay wasn’t the only one down in the dumps, as the G-Men limped their way to a 4-13 record, finishing in last place of the NFC East. Now, though, Brian Daboll and Mike Kafka are in town, which is 100 percent the best thing possible for all the offensive playmakers. There’s a different feel for the team and things are looking bright.
Golladay won’t be the only one to benefit from the staff changes, as Joe Judge and Jason Garrett won’t be holding back Saquon Barkley, Daniel Jones, Kadarius Toney and others. For Golladay, you’d hope he’d be able to start off the season with a bang and find the back of the end zone come Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.
If that were to happen, the monkey would be off Golladay’s back in recording TD No. 1 for Big Blue. There’s still more than a month until that showdown with Tennessee arrives on Sept. 11, so Golladay will keep working around the clock to get himself better and fully fit for that upcoming meeting. He’s clearly got the right mindset over at camp right now for the team, which is great to see for Daboll and the fanbase as a whole.
