Cornerbacks

In: Adoree Jackson, Darnay Holmes, Cor’Dale Flott, Aaron Robinson, Rodarius Williams

Out: Olaijah Griffin, Darren Evans, Khalil Dorsey

This is the position most likely to look very different by the end of next week. While Jackson is locked in as the No. 1 cornerback and Holmes as the slot corner, the rest is very much up in the air. Robinson was projected to be the starting corner but he has been torched in preseason, and Williams hasn’t gotten many reps in his return from a torn ACL. Flott will be on the roster as well as the backup slot corner.

Safeties

In: Xavier McKinney, Julian Love, Andrew Adams, Trenton Thompson, Dane Belton

Out: Yusuf Corker, Nate Meadors

McKinney is the Giants best defensive player and will be the defensive signal caller in 2022. Love will start aside him, while Adams, the veteran journeyman, is back with the Giants to be the backup safety.

Belton the 2022 fourth-rounder, will go on the IR after making the initial roster with a broken collarbone, opening up a spot for an undrafted rookie. Thompson will likely get that spot over Corker, as he has been above him on both the defensive and special teams depth charts all summer.

Special Teams

In: Graham Gano, Jamie Gillan, Casey Kreiter

Out: N\A

Gano suffered a concussion during Sunday’s win against Cincinnati, but he will likely be back in time for Week 1 at Tennessee. Gillan handled the kicking and punting duties Sunday and looked very strong. Kreiter is an All-Pro long snapper who will anchor the special teams.
